Cindy CoxCindy Cox, a Senior Consultant with The Coker Group, has over 15 years experience in healthcare and medical practice management, both in primary care and in multi-specialty practices, gaining knowledge and experience in many areas of healthcare.
Ms. Cox draws on her experience and skill in practice management to assist a diverse group of Coker’s clients with myriad operational and financial issues, including operations, accounts receivables, revenue cycle analyses, merger assistance, physician education and training in coding compliance issues, coding analyses, medical chart auditing, operational assessments and interim management assignments. Previous positions on the payer side of insurance have given her priceless insight into collections and other insurance issues.
Ms. Cox worked as part of the management team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for five years, managing the day-to-day operations of various Multi-Specialty, Single Specialty, Craniofacial, Speech, and Dentistry Clinics. There she coordinated many areas of the practices, from mediating processes to analyzing revenue trends to performing a wide variety of administrative management duties.
Prior to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Ms. Cox was a practice manager for Georgia Plastic Surgery, where she acquired a strong foundation for her career in practice management. Ms. Cox also amassed experience in working with collections early in her career as a Collector with Southern Regional Medical Center, and on the payer side as an Insurance Specialist with John Hancock Insurance and as a Benefit Analyst with Fortis Benefits.
Ms. Cox graduated from Clayton College & State University, attaining a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in healthcare management. She then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Science Management with a concentration in healthcare management from Troy State University. She is also a Certified Professional Coder and a Certified Patient Account Representative.
