Jim Faircloth
Jim Faircloth brings to The Coker Group a wealth of professional experience and understanding attained through a career in substantial positions with various health care entities. The list includes large for-profit and not-for-profit health care systems, and large private multispecialty physician group practices. With over 20 years working in provider organizations of all sizes, he has amassed expertise in every area of physician practice operations. Working at the manager level, he now applies his well-rounded skills and knowledge to assist Coker’s clients with every operational and financial issue.
Mr. Faircloth’s prior positions include executive directorship of a nationwide health care service provider where he advised regional executives in planning, policies, and programs. In that role, he effectively facilitated physician relations. Other functions encompassed planning and evaluating organizational strategies; development and establishing of policies, procedures, and objectives; preparation and implementation of budgets; and responsibility for and preparation of business and marketing plans.
In another corporate role, Mr. Faircloth served a large for-profit hospital company with facilities located throughout the U.S. His responsibilities included interpretations and resolution of operational problems and policies; supervision of clinics; help in physician recruitment and contracting; aid in start-ups, acquisitions, and developing satellite offices; and numerous other management functions. He worked closely with the local hospital management teams, advising them in development and growth strategies as it pertained to physician networks and alliances.
As Vice President of Carolinas Physicians Network, Mr. Faircloth was directly responsible for over 27 practices, which included 110 physicians, 25 mid-level providers, and a staff of over 450 full-time employees. There, he developed and successfully managed an annual budget in excess of $90 million. Along with many other achievements, he established 11 practices through acquisitions, satellites, and start-up clinics over a five-year period. Mr. Faircloth also directed one of the largest physician networks in Pennsylvania, where he had oversight of 15 practice sites. He managed an annual budget of over $30 million; negotiated managed care contracts; restructured the organization to improve governance and operations; and worked with the hospital to develop systems to track both inpatient and outpatient data to demonstrate the value of the medical group to the hospital.
Mr. Faircloth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Active in the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Practice Executives, he is a certified medical practice executive. He is also a former preceptor and faculty associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Department of Health Policy and Administration. |
