The Coker Group has a rich history and extensive past working with businesses in the healthcare industry.  Coker was founded in 1987 by Jack Coker, a legend within the healthcare industry, offering strategic consulting services aimed at instituting better relations between physicians and hospitals. In those early years, Coker worked closely with hospitals and health systems to build the allegiance of physicians on hospital medical staffs, operating mostly through non-contractual relationships.

Over time, still concentrating on physician and hospital relationships, Coker responded to the healthcare industry’s changing needs. Coker began to operate under formal contracting arrangements on projects involving the research, development, and formation of contracted alliances for hospitals and physicians.
